The best gift to get as a kid

When you wrote your letters to Santa, what did you ask for? As a kid, I’ve always made long lists of things I thought I wanted, but looking back, I realize I only put things down that I thought were of having at that moment. Soon after finishing the list, however, I forgot about most of those things since they didn’t mean anything. Then again, it was always fun to fantasize as a kid.

Best is defined as “of the highest quality, excellence, or standing,” by Dictionary.com. So what is the best gift? Ultimately, it all depends on the person who is receiving it. One would be ecstatic to receive the newest nerf gun while someone else might much rather prefer crafts or dolls. The best gifts to get are those that mean something to you. Most kids like toys. Dolls, pretend kitchens, rollerblades, nerf guns, toy cars or robots. Someone’s best gift could correlate with trends. For example, Shopkins, fidget spinners, slime, silly bands, LEGOs and so on.

According to the Strategist, this year’s top Christmas gifts for kids could include:

  • A Star Wars Baby Yoda Animatronic Edition- can coo, babble and wiggle its ears, all with a touch on top of its head. When laid down, it takes a “force nap” to recharge.
  • FailFix Makeover Doll- delights any fans of L.O.L Surprise dolls, where you transform your doll from bathrobe and messy hair to stylish glam, and ready to go out.
  • Power Treads Epic Course Pack- kids can custom build their own racetrack using the Power Treads track pieces and things they have around the house.
  • NEW 2020 Care Bears Tenderheart Bear-Care Bears have relaunched this year with updated versions of all the characters; available as plushies, interactive toys and blind-box collectibles.
  • Pets Alive Fifi the Flossing Sloth- When its nose is pressed, Fifi the Sloth will dance the floss to three “epic” songs.
  • Playmobil ‘Back to the Future’ DeLorean- Build the DeLorean along with mini figurines that come; Marty McFly, Doc Brown, a flux capacitor and Doc’s dog.
  • LEGO Super Mario Adventures with Mario Starter Course- the set pairs with a free app where you can earn virtual coins as Mario moves through each “level”. Mario has color sensors and LCD screens in his eyes, mouth and belly to display over 100 different instant reactions to movement. The set also includes a speaker that plays iconic sounds and music from the game.
  • American Girl Doll Joss- Joss is a surfer girl with a hearing aid, and comes with a swimsuit, shorts, a hoodie and a pair of flip flops; with extra accessories available for purchase.

And many more!

In conclusion. A gift’s value is in the eye of its beholder, and the eyes of children usually prefer games, toys or things related to hobbies they like such as sports.
